Mahler’s Adagietto has become one of the composer’s most enduring works, often performed as a separate piece apart from the rest of the 5th Symphony. While scored for strings and solo harp, this transcription places the harp part in the hands of the bass clarinet, while the string parts are taken up by three Bb clarinets and accompanying bass clarinet.
